Mount Meru CEO Engages Customers and Staff

Ndola 22/01/25 – THE MOUNT Meru Chief Executive for Lubricants and Aviation, Knight Silumesi recently toured Mount Meru sites to interact with customers and staff across the country.

Below he writes of his experience and mission.

The CEO writes:

This week, I dedicated two days to visiting our esteemed customers and engaging with our staff across various locations. These interactions provided a valuable opportunity to listen, learn, and gain profound insights into how our business is perceived and identify ways to foster stronger, lasting relationships with our customers.

I also visited some of our flagship ongoing projects, including the Meru Indeni Service Station in Ndola, which is currently under construction. This modern station embodies Mount Meru’s new visual identity, featuring sustainable design elements such as digital and automatic tank gauging, energy efficient high-speed pumps, clean energy solutions like LPG, and premium fuels and lubricants, all while incorporating green vegetation into its surroundings.

Scheduled to open this month, it will proudly become Mount Meru’s 85th service station—the largest network in Zambia—further reinforcing our dedication to innovation, sustainable growth, and employment creation.

I am super proud of the progress we are making and I look forward to celebrating great milestones ahead.

I lead the strategy, operations, and P&L management for the Lubricants and Aviation divisions at Mount Meru Group, driving growth and operational excellence across Southern and East Africa. My responsibilities include overseeing a modern lubricants production plant in Lusaka, Zambia and expanding market reach across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, DRC, Tanzania, and Rwanda.

With the support of over 2,000 professionals, I focus on delivering sustainable business growth by optimizing operations, expanding market presence, and achieving strong financial results. I oversee the aviation fuel business, reinforcing the company’s regional footprint while maintaining a steadfast commitment to safety, sustainability, and compliance. My work ensures alignment with strategic goals, creating lasting value for stakeholders and positioning the company as a trusted industry leader.
