LUSAKA, 01/01/25 – Lactalis Asia Oceania Africa has announced that it will be closing its milk manufacturing plant in Zambia by April 1, 2025.
In an memo to its Southern African employees, Lactalis General Manager Alban Damour, announced that the company had decided to change it business model by importing all of its milk products from South Africa.
He said this was in an effort to cut down on production costs caused by negative effects of drought, load shedding and the persistent draining of is resources into the Zambian manufacturing process.
These changes will not affect Lactalis’ supply of its milk products nor cause the company to depart from the Zambian market.
Lactalis parmalat products, have been on the Zambian market for years and this move will definitely create an upset in the supply and consumption of its milk products.
